|Tested chip's description||The TL494 chip is a PWM controller, perfectly suited for building pulse power supplies of various topologies and capacities. It can work both in single-shot and in two-stroke mode. The microcircuit consists of a PWM controller and a line of comparators that monitor the output voltages and participate in the formation of the P.G. signal. and a matching stage consisting of a transformer and transistor switches. The TL494 (TL493, TL495) chip from TEXAS INSTRUMENTS or its equivalent - МРС494 chip from NEC is used as a PWM controller. The TL 494 includes all the functions needed to build a pulse width modulated (PWM) control circuit on a single chip. Designed primarily for power management, this device provides flexibility for a particular application in adaptation in the control circuits of power supplies. The TL 494 contains two error amplifiers, an internal adjustable oscillator, (DTC) controlled time delay comparator, a pulse-controlled switch, a 5V ± 5% reference voltage source, and an output circuit control. Error amplifiers produce common-mode voltage in the range of -0.3 V to Vcc - 2 V. The time delay comparator has a fixed offset, which gives a 5% time delay. The internal generator can be bypassed by disconnecting the RT output and connecting the sawtooth voltage to the CT, which is used for common circuits in synchronizing power supplies. Independent output shapers on transistors make it possible to connect the load according to a circuit with a common emitter or an emitter follower circuit. The output stage of the TL493 / 4/5 microcircuits operates in single-cycle or two-stroke mode with the possibility of mode selection using a special input. TL494 can operate in single-stroke and two-stroke mode. The architecture of the device does not allow the delivery of a double pulse in the push-pull mode.|
